Design of a Novel Boomerang Trajectory for Sliding Mode Controller

Sliding Mode Controllers (SMC) is widely known for its robustness and controllability for a non-linear system during transient conditions. The main advantage of SMC is that of sliding a control variable along the trajectory and converges to zero …

On Optimal Buffer Allocation for Guaranteeing Quality of Service in Multimedia Internet Broadcasting for Mobile Networks

In this paper the problem of guaranteeing Quality of Service via optimal buffer allocation is considered: namely, we compute the optimal buffer with respect to a real-world dataset accounting for the expected data traffic volume for a predefined …

Fast and Accurate Self-calibration Using Vanishing Point Detection in Manmade Environments

Interests of auto-calibration have been increased in several camera systems. This paper presents a novel self-calibration method using fast and accurate vanishing point detection algorithm that works in manmade environments. The proposed algorithm …

GPS and eLoran Integrated Navigation for Marine Applications Using Augmented Measurement Equation Based on Range Domain

Vulnerability to the interference of GPS (Global Positioning Systems) is one of the main obstacles to performing safe marine navigation. As eLoran (Enhanced Long Range Navigation), considered as the backup navigation system of GPS, has been …

Distributed Control for Uncertain Nonlinear Multiagent Systems Subject to Hybrid Faults

This paper investigates a distributed consensus control problem for a class of uncertain nonlinear multiagent systems with hybrid faults. Most of the existing works about consensus control for multi-agent systems solely consider either actuator …

The International Journal of Control, Automation, and Systems (IJCAS) is a joint publication of Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems (ICROS) and The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers (KIEE), which is published as bimonthly periodical as of 2003. The two institutes have been discussing the launch of a joint publication, since 2001; by discontinuing the former English journals of their respective institutes, they aim to establish a high-quality archival journal. In addition to introducing a new journal name, the IJCAS, the joint steering committee has set a new publication direction. To broaden the scope of the journal, the committee has invited distinguished scholars from abroad as well as from Korea to serve on the editorial board. I am honored to work with them to make this a truly international journal.

Our desire is to provide a forum for original research results on theory, design, experiments, and applications in all technical areas of control, automation, and systems. The journal covers three strongly related research areas including control, automation, and systems. This type of coverage is unique and it is the only journal covering these three areas combined in the world. To become a premier journal, however, we warmly welcome your active participation and contribution, not only by submitting your precious works but also by making constructive suggestions for improving of the journal.
