Improved LBF Model Combined with Fisher Criterion

An improved local binary fitting (LBF) [1] model combined with Fisher criterion is introduced in this paper. We hope to improve collection degree within classification and separation degree between two classifications, pixels are distributed over local domain of two sides of the boundary. Based on this idea, a new energy term are constructed. The new model is more robust under global information of pixels in the local region of boundary. Furthermore, the narrow band implementation of new model is able to reduce the computational cost greatly.

A Background Model Combining Adapted Local Binary Pattern with Gauss Mixture Model

Detecting moving objects using background subtraction is a critical component for many vision-based applications, but it is extremely sensitive to dynamic scene changes due to lighting and extraneous events, especially when the dynamic texture such as swaying trees and waving water surface is existed. In this paper, a reliable background modeling scheme has been proposed to combine adapted Local Binary Pattern (LBP) of local block with Gauss Mixture Model (GMM) of pixel level. A pixel in new frame is judged as foreground not only by comparing intensity with background image, but also by comparing its block histogram with relevant background block model. Experiment results show this algorithm is efficient than the classical GMM algorithm using only color intensities.

Research of Cascaded Conditional Random Fields Model for Sentence Sentiment Analysis Based on Isotonic Constraints

The sentence sentiment analysis is a key task in sentiment analysis. Existing methods ignored the contextual information, the negative effect of the redundancy between labels, or the relationship from sentiment words to annotation labels. Aiming at these problems, this paper present a novel cascaded model based on isotonic constraints, which respectively classify sentiment polarities and strength in different layers. Different from traditional cascaded model, the proposed method incorporates a kind of domain knowledge about sentiment words through enforcing a set of monotonic constraints on the CRF parameters. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm has strong discrimination ability between different labels, and thus validate the effectiveness of our model in sentence sentiment analysis for Chinese texts.

A Tree Routing Protocol Based on Ant Colony Algorithm for Mine Goaf Monitoring

This paper proposes a novel routing protocol called ZACATREE, which will prolong the Zigbee network lifetime, reduce the end-to-end delay, and improve the reliability of mine goaf monitoring. Using ant colony algorithm to search for the next hop would effectively reduce energy consumption while tree structure is helpful to reduce the end-to-end delay and packet loss rate. The simulation results show that the ZACATREE protocol can improve the network lifetime by 27.7% compared with the AODV protocol, while the end-to-end delay can be reduced by 16.92% and 46.04% abatement in the packet loss rate is obtained. Therefore, the performance of mine goaf monitoring network can well be improved by using the ZACATREE protocol.

Coverage Optimization Algorithm of Wireless Sensor Network

To the problem of randomly deployed nodes failing to guarantee the network coverage and the objects detection probability, this study puts forward a coverage optimization algorithm of wireless sensor network based on simplified virtual forces-oriented particle swarm with mutate mechanism (SVF-PS-MA), which would improve the update speed of particle swarm algorithm, guide the direction of particle evolution and speed up the algorithm convergence by dislodging attractive forces from the virtual forces. And this algorithm introduces the mutate mechanism, take the mutation for particles, improve the particles diversity and reduce the probability of particles falling into the local optimization. The result shows that the algorithm can improve the network coverage effectively, and guarantee less time-consumption.

Adaptive Frame Selection for Multi-frame Super Resolution

Image super-resolution (SR) is a process to reconstruct a high-resolution (HR) image by fusing multiple low-resolution (LR) images. A critical step in image SR is accurate registration of the LR images, however the larger inter-frame motion can significantly affect the sub-pixel image registration, then it can also affect the output of HR reconstruction. So a novel Adaptive Frame Selection method is proposed in this paper for the reconstruction of multi-frame SR. It devises a framework to resolve the image SR reconstruction problem into two steps. Firstly, using the Optical flow algorithm to calculate the inter-frame motion estimation, designing an adaptive frame selection method to discard some of the larger inter-frame motion frames, then the less inter-frame motion of successive frames is obtained. Secondly, using the maximum a posteriori (MAP) based SR algorithm for the SR reconstruction. The experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm has considerable effectiveness in terms of both objective measurements and visual evaluation.

Calculation of Coverage Relationship between Camera Sensor Node and Scalar Sensor Node in Two-Tier Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks

For energy-constrained wireless multimedia sensor networks (WMSNs), how to minimize the energy consumption while still capturing the events images with low latency becomes a crucial question in the design. A good solution for this question is using two-tier network, in which the camera sensor nodes should only be woken up when an event is detected by the scalar sensor nodes within its sensing field. In this solution, a key step is to know the coverage relationship between the camera sensor nodes and the scalar sensor nodes. Therefore we study the sensing models of these two kinds of sensor nodes and define the coverage relationship between them in this paper. An algorithm to calculate the coverage relationship between these two kinds of sensor nodes is presented. Thus, during the working process of the network, by saving the coverage relationship table in its memory, each camera sensor node can easy to know whether they cove the events or not.

Risk Assessment of Information System Security Based on Fuzzy Multiple Criteria Group AHP

Based on the fuzzy multiple criteria group AHP, a new method has been proposed for the risk assessment of information system security and then its index system has been established. The least variance priority method of triangular fuzzy number complementary judgment matrix is necessary to obtain the weight of each index. The fuzzy weights of the second-class indexes can be derived from the synthesis of experts’ opinions by the fuzzy Delphi method. Combined with the security values of the second-class indexes expressed by the fuzzy language variables, the fuzzy indexes for evaluating information system security are gained by use of the hierarchical integration method. Finally, with the aid of the

Parallel Clustering of Videos to Provide Real Time Location Intelligence Services to Mobile Users

Clustering of large datasets has been widely used to retrieve relevant data or to discover novel data associations. Topology preservation of the original dataset is not always mandatory, unless the dataset has a temporal-spatial nature since, in this case, the data in the same cluster as well as the ones of the closest clusters should be related as in the real system. However, only few existing parallel methods preserve the original dataset topology. Also, few times such methods have been used to help the management of real time systems due to their limited parallelism degree. Aim of the paper is to illustrate how such requisites may be fulfilled by using a SOM based parallel clustering method developed recently by the authors. In particular, the clustering of relevant video sequences that helps the management of real time location systems are discussed to point out how this allows us to provide novel location intelligence services to the mobile users.
