Abstract

We investigated the conceptual similarity and empirical overlap between the Career Adapt-Abilities Scale (CAAS) and the career decision-making adaptability (CDA) indicator, and their contribution to the prediction of (1) decisional difficulty and distress and (2) decision status. The associations between CAAS and CDA dimensions in a sample of 2146 Americans were medium. The CAAS control and the CDA procrastination and speed of making the final decision were significant predictors of decisional difficulty and distress (R2 = .40). The CAAS concern and the CDA procrastination were significant predictors of decision status (R2 = .25). Implications for research and practice are discussed.
